Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand the role of soil properties on the growing of agronomic plants. 2. Recognize and understand the effect of different properties of soils on growth of plants.

Course Content (Syllabus)
General principles of soil genesis and classification. Soil structure and particle size distribution. Soil chemical properties, soil fertility, acid, saline and alkali (sodic) soils. Soil microorganisms and organic matter. Soil water (and irrigation water). Soil aeration and temperature. Improvement of soil properties through management practices.
