Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, post-graduate students will be able to: • discern the basic characteristics of qualitative research and understand its role in the ecumenical movement, especially in the contemporary ecumenical dialogue. • analyze and process texts of the contemporary ecumenical ecclesiological reflection. • discuss on critical issues that concern the Christian churches, especially the Orthodox Church in the contemporary ecumenical dialogue. • work individually and collectively regarding various relevant issues and exploit all means of scientific research. • present the results of their research in a scientific and contemporary way.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course explores the theological and ecclesiological conditions of the ecumenical movement. Moreover, the method of cooperation and organization in regard to the ecumenical dialogue is studied while the bilateral and multilateral dialogues are presented and discussed (historical outline - Agenda - perspectives). Based on the latest developments in the contemporary ecumenical dialogue and ecclesiological reflection, the interest of the course is focused on the examination and analysis of the position of the ''other'' Churches and Denominations within the framework of the Orthodox self-understanding. The latter is one of the most sensitive issues of the ecumenical movement and theological dialogues and affects the way that the Orthodox Churches are related to the other Churches, as well as the understanding of the ecumenical movement's objective and their participation in it.
