Upon successful completion of the course students:
• will have acquired the knowledge and skills for performing Greek Traditional Dances,
• will be able to perform in practice representative dances from different regions of Greece,
• will have understood the basic principles of didactics for teaching Greek Traditional Dances,
• will be able to apply in practice the basic principles of didactics for teaching the dances that will have been taught.

Course Content (Syllabus)
•Students' initiation in Greek dancing tradition and familiarization with the rhythms and kinetic expressive means of Greek tradition.
•The learning of the basic principles of didactics.
•The learning of dances from dippartments of mainland Greece (Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, Thessaly, Peloponnese).
•The learning of dances from Greek islands (Aegean islands, Ionian islands, Crete).
•The learning of dances from areas of Greek origin (Pontos, Eastern Romylia).

Student Assessment
Description
The assessment is based on students' regular and active participation in the course (10%), midterm exams (20%) and oral, written and practical exams at the end of the semester (70%).
The criteria are mentioned in the Department's Study Guide and are communicated to the students in the first lesson.
