Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to: • execute the special strokes, topspin forehand, and backhand, slice service, slice backhand, and lob slice forehand/backhand, with a correct technique, • recognize frequent technic errors in the execution of the above strokes, and use ways and methods to correct them, • feed trainees with tennis balls during different, easy Drills, • compete in singles and doubles, • assume arbitration duties and responsibilities as Chair Umpire and Line Judge, • ascertain and evaluate with scientific methods the performance of tennis athletes, in a laboratory, or on the court, • work as coaches in clubs or in the free market, for developmental aged players included in the various stages of "Tennis 10's", but also for beginners, in a national or international environment.

Course Content (Syllabus)
- The different stages of “Tennis 10's” and the corresponding developmental ages of the athletes - students of tennis at "red", "orange" and "green" level, - Physical condition. Theory and practice on the court for developmental ages. - Technical analysis of the strokes: topspin fοrehand και backhand, and slice service. Common and possible errors, error correction. Methodical teaching of the strokes, - Video recording of the stroke technic of the students and detailed debate, - Code of players Conduct on and off court, in practice and match. - Separation of exercises (drills) performed on court, depending on the training objective. - Fundamentals of singles and doubles tactic. - Technical analysis of slice backhand and lob slice at fh and bh. Errors and corrections. - Specific individual defense and offense tactic. Special tactics in doubles and mixed matches. - Exercising in Umpiring (chair umpire and line judges). - Profile of the coach. - Testing and assessment of performance. - Practice in feeding of trainees during performing basic strokes.

Student Assessment
Description
During the entire semester the regular and active attendance of the course (30%) were evaluated, while at the end practical (40%) and theoretical (30%) examinations of Tennis are following. At the practical part students were examined: a) individually in the technique of the strokes after feeding by the teacher-coach and b) in pairs in match conditions. Written Exams are performed for testing the theory of the sport. Essential condition for final success in the exams is achieved when at least the grade 5 ("sufficient") in each one of the three Exams parts is reached. The criteria are explicitly reported in the Syllabus of the course and communicated to the students in the first lesson. Moreover, the criteria can also be found in the Department's internet page of the person who is in charge of the course.
