Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will acquire knowledge around video systems, starting from the theory of light, optics, vision, human photography and film. Furthermore the students will study the integrated TV signal and processing methods, both in analog and in digital domain. They'll gain knowledge around the high-capacity data compression protocols, through specialized protocols such as MPEG1, 2 and 4. Finally it will examine ways of transmission of audiovisual digital signal through terrestrial, satellite and optical network systems.

History and evolution of the television, Fundamentals for creating the image, Light, color TV & camera, recording systems, reproduction Systems, Digital Television, Digital Cinema Systems, linear and non-linear storage systems, digital image transmission standards
