Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
-Analyze the place of RE in the curricula and levels of education in the EU countries
-Specify the content of RE in the EU countries
-Compare the place of RE in the curricula of Greece with those of the other EU countries
-Compare the contents of the RE school books in Greece to those of the other EU countries
-Realize and aknowledge the contribution of the RE teaching to the contemporary multicultural environments of EU countries
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course concerns the topis of an Intensive Erasmus Programme, where it was examined the diversity in the schools of Primary and Secondary Education of the member-states of EU which participated in the programme and the degree that their countries comply with the EU recommendations. The focus was on RE. Aim was to difuse information on the abilities and skills that a teacher of RE must obtain in order to recognize and appreciate the diversity and the forming of a new attitude towards diversity so as to be able to handle effectively the diversity in class. The course includes visits in intercultural schools of Primary and Secondary Education.
