Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• Identify the rights and obligations of an active citizen, by linking offending behaviours to sustainability in society and the environment (natural resources, recycling, pollution and overconsumption, social and human relations, school environment, schools and multiculturalism, etc.).
• Suggest ways to associate participatory democracy with Sustainable Development.
• Identify artworks, which are inspired from social and environmental issues, as well as artistic movements that embrace the principles of sustainability.
• Realize concepts, concepts and values related to sustainable development in the school environment and to explore ways to better process them within the curriculum.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Education together with society can mutually contribute to the shaping of behaviour oriented towards sustainability. Sustainable development, as it is more defined as a moral rule than as a scientific term, is linked to the value of peace, human rights and the environment. So, while requiring knowledge from Physics, Technology, Economics and Politics, it suggests changing our relationship with others and with the physical world. It requires recognizing the relationship of interdependence between man and the natural environment and realizing that this interdependence means that no social, economic, political or environmental objective can be achieved at the expense of someone else. As Sustainable Development is marketed as a matter of culture, it leaves room for us to draw ideas and values through art. Land Art or Environmental Art, Contemporary Art, and Street Art promote (and shape) the same issues that Sustainable Development is related to.
