Course Content (Syllabus)
Biography as a theory and method of collecting material for cinematic use
With this lesson, students are trained in how we can use the biography approach to learn and construct narrative material for cinematic use.
The course is based on the theoretical and methodological principles of the first-ever biography of the Chicago School (decades 1920-1930) and the renewed (European) biographical approach.
From the first to the last lesson is a continuous exercise of "narrative" and "listen" with the theoretical and methodological terms of the biographical approach. Students engage in life stories and life stories and how this material can be analyzed to provide a basis for cinematic use.
Participants in the seminar are encouraged, guided and trained to be members of this seminar and in no case passive listeners. They are trained to make everyone "wishful thinking".
The lesson is held in the conference room so that there is face-to-face communication with all participants, a treaty necessary for such seminars.
Those who participate as actors in this lesson deliver at the end of the semester a work of approximately 2000-3000 words with their experience of this participation. Those who were unable to attend adequately at the end of the semester will pass examinations on matter that will be announced in the first lesson and will be posted on the Department's website
Note: Relevant literature is presented in the first lesson but also on the course course and posted on the Department's website.
