Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, the students will have:
1. Become acquainted with the ways in which the film product is promoted and distributed.
2. Understood the differences between broad commercial cinema distribution and festival film distribution.
3. Become acquainted with the most important film festivals in the world.
4. Explored and become familiar with the key elements which constitute a successful film festival
5. Become able to compose a detailed evaluation report as well as propose ways of redesigning a film festival.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines the possibilities of promoting, distributing and selling a film project. It deals with the potential of the Greek and European markets. In the course, the differences between the marketing circuit and the promotion circuit through festivals around the world are also identified. Finally, the most important international film festivals are described and evaluated, identifying their special features.

Description
The final grade will be the result of:
• Students' participation in lectures (3 grades).
• A project on the evaluation of an International Film Festival (free choice*). Following the study of relevant texts regarding the theoretical foundation of international film festivals as institutions, the assignment will include proposals about ethe planning, organization, identity, aims, program and the market of the event (7 grades, individual project, 2500-3000 words).
