Course Content (Syllabus)
The course focuses on the management of qualitative and quantitative data. Basic methods for analysing quantitative data and the criteria for their implementation are presented. Furthermore the distinctions between the different kinds of variable are presented and connected to different methods of analysis. Methods for analysing a single variable at a time (univariate analysis), the relationships between two variables (bivariate analysis) or three and more variables (multivariate analysis) are also presented. On the second part of the course methods of qualitative data analysis are presented such as analytic induction, grounded theory, thematic analysis, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis.

Student Assessment
Description
Evaluation will be based on two written assignments of 1500 and 3000 words respectively and oral presentations. The first coursework will be handed in the middle of the course and will be based on a critical analysis of research study. The second coursework will be handed in at the end of the course and will be based on the review and critical analysis of the literature on a specific area which is related to the course content.
