Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have • Gaining basic knowledge of the main principles of drama and theories of theatre. • been familiar with the basic terminology of the theatrical theory • gained the capacity to distinguish different currents, tendencies and movements as well as stylistic characteristics and devices • reinforced the research critical and analytical capacity •been familiar with the different plays

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course will be focused on the core elements of theatre (starting with Aristotle’s poetics) and the principles of drama. Through this lens, there will be an in-depth study of some representative classic and modern plays with the aim of comparing them from a historical point of view and reaching some conclusions.
