Course Content (Syllabus)
The course approaches the subject of the protection of fundamental rights in the European legal order through the case law of the Court and the General Court (formerly CFI) of the European Union and the jurisprudence of the general principles of Community law, the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights (Strasbourg) and the positive European law of human rights, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (ECHR), as these texts are applied and interpreted by the three european courts reported.
The material described, together with the texts of positive law and the suggested basic judgments correspond to the seminar only for the fall semester. In the spring semester, the purpose of the seminar will be a special issue of the European protection of fundamental rights.
