Course Content (Syllabus)
The course "COMMERCIAL LAW - GENERAL PART" is taught in the second semester and is the first (1st) introductory course in the field of Commercial Law. The aim of this course is: the acquaintance of students with basic concepts of Greek Commercial Law· the consolidation of the legal concept of the trader and the commercial act, as well as a first overall perception about this field od law. This aim is best achieved through practical exercises solved during the course. The course includes the following teaching modules: 1. Introduction to Commercial Law: legal, economic and historical determination of Commercial Law 2. Branches of Commercial Law 3. Systems of commerciality 4. The meaning of "objectively commercial transactions" and their in-depth analysis based on current greek legislation 5. The meaning of "subjective commercial transactions" and their legislative foundation 6. The meaning of merchant (conditions for the acquisition of commercial capacity, special cases of merchants, etc.) 7. Legal consequences associated with carrying out commercial transactions or with the merchant legal status 8. Various types of commercial contracts
