Course Content (Syllabus)
The course deals with issues of applicable law and civil proceedings to private law relationships having a foreign element. Contents: (a) General principles of choice of applicable law (structure of choice of law rule, legal characterisation, renvoi, incidental question, circumvention of law, public policy, application of foreign law, transitional law), (b) Special part (law applicable to legal capacity of natural and legal persons, type of legal act, family relationships, delicts, contracts, property and succession law), (c) International Procedural Law (international jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, arbitration) and (d) Acquisition and loss of Greek nationality. General principles of Greek Nationality Law.
