Course Content (Syllabus)
This course presents good practices in the design of master dissertation. It describes and analyzes the two main axes of such a research endeavour in the context of the present master programme: research design and organization - formatting the dissertation as a type of scientific text. The first axis deals with combining previous research, contemporary findings and new hypothesis so as to propose the conduct of a future research. The course presents the required knowledge and skills for the successful design of a master dissertation. This design, also called research proposal, is a formal piece of scientific writing and a requirement in order to conduct a future research. The second axis is about the organization of the dissertation itself, in terms of structure and content, correct formatting, and the referencing system APA. These two axes are presented at the same time through the development of the research proposal, both as research design and as a type of scientific text. The topic of the research proposal will be chosen by the participants themselves and it could be the topic of their own dissertation or in a different area.
