Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to:
(a) be acquainted with ancient Greek prose, with emphasis on the genres of rhetoric, historiography and philosophy.
(b) study Greek prose in depth, with due emphasis on issues of linguistic features and distinct style.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The class focuses on ancient Greek prose of the classic period, with emphasis placed on rhetoric, historiography and philosophy. The works of representative authors are studied from the original, with a detailed examination of the language and style.
