We will discuss - the directions of Curriculum on Literary translation - structure of school literature textbooks on Literary translation - incorporated key elements of thematic and stylistic approaches of the texts which had been translated - elements of the history of Modern Greek Literature - elements of the history of Literary translation

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course includes an introduction to the theory of literary translation, with an emphasis on the translation of poetry. Literary translations of ancient Greek poetry and poems translated into modern Greek from other languages (mainly English and French) will be approached. The aim is to understand key points of the theory surrounding literary translation, as well as to critically approach specific translated poems.
