Learning Outcomes
The student is expected within the course to accomplish the following: 1. Will know basic elements of anatomy and physiology of periodontal tissues 2. Will be familiar with completing the periodontal chart 3. Will have practiced in the study of medical records 4. Will have understood the basic elements of the treatment of periodontal tissue diseases 5. He will have cultivated the need for etiological treatment 6. Will be aware of the need for oral hygiene

Course Content (Syllabus)
Aim: to educate in fundamental knowledge of Periodontology which is necessary for clinical training during the 6th semester. At the end of 5th semester, the student shall acquire basic knowledge of the anatomy of the periodontium, aetiology and classification of periodontal diseases, systemic and local risk factors, and therefore be able to correctly complete periodontal chart and record. In addition, the student shall know correct oral hygiene procedures and instrumentation for debridement and scaling-root planning.
