Learning Outcomes
On completion of the 7th semester the student should be able to properly use the periodontal instrumentarium for scaling and root planing, and conduct a treatment plan in periodontitis cases. Furthermore, he should be able to assess the medical history of the patient and discuss the relationship between periodontal and systemic diseases.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Seminars on periodontal pathology and treatment of various periodontal diseases and conditions aim at providing knowledge on periodontal examination, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment planning. The rationale for the clinical course on periodontology in the 7th semester is to provide the clinical dexterities in periodontal examination, diagnosis and treatment planing of periodontitis cases. The student should complete the non-surgical treatment on 2 cases demonstrating initial and moderate periodontitis.
