Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will: be prepared for decision making in clinical practice, be capable of identifying priorities for diagnosis, prognosis, and rehabilitation across all age groups of patients, have become familiar with the concept of overall treatment of these patients.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Identification of the concepts of 'need' & 'demand' for treatment, prioritization. Principles of minimal intervention in dentistry, crown integrity, aesthetics, pain & comfort, functional limitations, decision making, dental evaluation according to the strategic location of the teeth, patient management accoirding the edentulous areas, tooth preservation vs implant placement. Step by step oral preparation in relation to treatment options. Communication / Interaction with Patient: Cost / Benefit. Needs / Demands. Presentation of Proposed Treatment Plans and Alternatives. Prognosis and maintenance. Patient and carer training, Legal / ethical issues, Explore alternative approaches in relation to the cost / benefit ratio. Overall Approach and Investigation of Factors Affecting Prosthetic Rehabilitation, Changes in the Body's chemical-Sensory Balance, Dietary Needs/Adequacy & Prosthetic Patient; Referral/collaboration with specialists. Utilizing modern materials and techniques, soft tissue management and modern impression and manufacturing techniques.
