Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: - understand the basic principles and the design parameters of the irrigation methods - apply the SCS methodology appropriately - investigate the impact of irrigation design parameters and select the appropriate combination of their values for optimal efficiency performance. - design an irrigation system on farm and to estimate the discharge required at the head of the collective irrigation network.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Collective free surface Irrigation networks. Design and operation of free surface irrigation methods (basins, borders, furrows) using SCS equations and SCS soils infiltration families. Sprinkler irrigation design and operation. Travelling raingun irrigation design and operation. Drip irrigation design and operation. Design of collective pressurized irrigation networks operating on demand or with rotation. Irrigation scheduling with and without water deficit.
