Learning Outcomes
After completing the course: -Students will have acquired basic skills (A2 level) in the use of Spanish as a foreign language in formal or informal oral and written language. -They will be able to cope with everyday needs and communicative situations through written or oral texts. -They will be able to understand sentences and frequently-used expressions related to the areas of experience most immediately relevant to them (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, places of interest, employment, etc.) -They will be able to communicate in simple, everyday tasks requiring no more than a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. -They will be able to describe in simple terms aspects of their past, environment and matters related to their immediate needs.

Course Content (Syllabus)
It corresponds to the level of linguistic competence A2 (basic knowledge), the second of six on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Grammar and syntactic phenomena are taught with communicative methodology practice and the use of oral and written texts, in order for students to become basic users of the language, i.e. those able to communicate in simple, everyday tasks requiring no more than a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Students learn to describe in simple terms facts of the past and their environment, as well as issues related to immediate needs. They are prepared to be able to understand and produce sentences and frequently-used expressions related to the areas of experience most immediately relevant to them (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, places of interest, employment, etc.).

Student Assessment
Description
Participation in classroom discussions. Papers/exercises, mid-term exam (optional). WRITTEN final exam or QUIZ format exam (the exam covers all the topics of the course). Students must answer close and open answer exercises, for which the evaluation criteria are: Accuracy, correctness, comprehensibility.
