Learning Outcomes
By completing this course, students are expected to:
1. Have familiarised with the basic steps required in conducting qualitative research in the field of architecture
2. Be able to design their own research, from describing the state of the art and defining their research question to the selection of suitable data collection methods.
3. Have familiarised with different research methods (interviews, participant/non-participant observation, archival research, mapping, visual analysis etc.)
4. Be aware of issues of research ethics, regulations and good practice.
5. Have experimented with analysing the primary material they collected, drawing conclusions and writing.
