Learning Outcomes
Student's participation in the "Seminar on informatics and electronic resources" will help them to understand key features of using new technologies (internet and databases) in pursuing research and writing scientific papers. Students will become familiar with the application of information technologies and data mining in supporting veterinary education, and the creation of electronic resources (e-portfolio) during their studies. Students will learn various ways of collecting scientific information from various databases and become familiar in evaluating scientific publications for their use as bibliographic sources when writing papers.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Introduction to the use of information technology and computer science on the veterinary education, research and practice 2. Basic principles of information technology, Hardware & software, use of specific softwares, copyright, internet virus protection 3. Search engines for scientific articles and publications 4. Basic training on reading and comprehension of scientific manuscripts and on writing structure of publications 5. Webpages with useful information regarding veterinary profession: national and international

Description
The Seminar on informatics and electronic resources takes place either in the computer lab of the Department or in the amphitheater where using the internet students can connect with their laptops and android devices.
