Companion Animal Medicine III (32 hours) Dermatology (14 hours) 1-2nd hour Diagnostic approach of canine and feline skin diseases 3rd -4th hour Bacterial skin diseases: Common superficial and deep bacterial dermatitides in the dog and cat 5th hour Fungal skin diseases: Canine and feline dermatophytosis, Malassezia dermatitis in the dog and cat 6-7th hour Protozoal and Parasitic skin diseases: Canine leishmaniosis, Canine demodicosis, Canine Sarcoptic mange, Otodectic mange in the dog and cat 8th -9th hour Allergic skin diseases: Canine Flea allergic dermatitis, Canine atopic dermatitis (Environmental, Food-induced, Idiopathic). Urticaria and Angioedema 10th hour Clinical patterns of feline allergic and other (pruritic or not) skin diseases 11th hour Canine otitis externa 12th hour Hormonal skin diseases: Hypothyroidism and Hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing’s disease). Alopecia X 13th hour Immune mediated skin diseases: Canine and Feline Pemphigus foliaceous. Canine Lupus erythematosus 14th hour Neoplastic tumours: Canine Sebaceous gland tumours. Squamous cell carcinoma in the dog and cat, Canine Histiocytoma, Canine Lipoma, Post vaccinal feline fibrosarcoma Endocrinology (9 hours) 1st hour Canine hypothyroidism 2nd hour Canine hyperadrenocorticism 3rd hour Canine hypoglycemia 4th-5th hour Diabetes melitus in the dog and cat 6th hour Obesity 7th hour Canine hypoadrenocorticism 8th-9th hour Feline hyperthyroidism Musculoskeletal system (4 hours) 1st hour Myasthenia gravis, Masticatory muscle myositis, canine idiopathic polymyositis [ΝS] 2nd hour Infectious myositis, feline hypokalemic myopathy, canine exertional rhabdomyolysis [ΝS] 3rd-4th hour Inflammatory arthropathies: rheumatoid arthritis, canine idiopathic non erosive polyarthritis, polyarthritis associated with Leishmania, Anaplasma/Ehrlichia, etc. [ΝS] Preventive medicine 1st-2nd hour Vaccination guidelines in the dog and cat 3rd-4th hour Prevention of infectious and parasitic diseases in canine and feline shelters
