Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing the course students will be able to υnderstand the meaning and character of Orthodox Theology, as well as its relations with the Church and the other sciences. Accordingly, students will be able to understand the importance and role of Information and Communication Technology in the learning process. In particular, they will be able to use in both the theological research and the didactic process in the school environment the supervisory and research capacities provided by Information and Communication Technology. Ιn addition, students will be able to evaluate the value of technology in scientific research or teaching and identify the potential dangers posed by their misuse. Finally, students are able to distinguish the position and role of new technological means in their research - scientific or didactic work. Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines the birth and historical development of Theology as science, the relationship of Orthodox Theology aw a science with the Church and the other sciences. It also includes aspects of the applications of Information and Communication Technologies in education and especially in Christian Education, as well as key elements of scientific methodology and the use of theological databases. 1. Concept and content of the term "Theology", 2. Theological Studies, the character of the Theology and the Science of Theology, 3. The relationship between the Science of Theology and the other sciences and the Orthodox Church, 4. The theological framework of applying the new technologies to Theology and theological education, 5. Computer systems - tools suitable for educational applications, 6. Distance learning, 7. Interactive whiteboard, 8. Εducational software for the teaching of theological courses, 9. Multimedia and Christian Education, 10. Critical assessment of the use of ICT in christian education, 11. Description
Practical exercises in the Laboratory and written dissertation in scientific methodology (30% of the final score). Oral exercises (70% of the final score.)
