General Prerequisites
Knowledge of the basic notions of film editing, the key terms, as well as basic competence in using film editing software.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the semester students will be able to: 1. analyze and edit dialogue scenes, 2. chase sequences, trailers, 3. develop and materialize the sound design of a silent sequence.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course presents conventions, «rules» and usual editing practices in familiar situations in different genres i.e. dialogue scenes, chase sequences. The importance of the shifting of point of view in fiction and documentary narratives is examined in depth, together with complex visual effects and temporal effects. Trailer editing, sound design and sound editing.

Description
Evaluation consists of two projects: a small written essay-scene analysis and the editing of an action scene based on existing silent footage, followed by sound design and sound editing. Attendance and active participation are also considered.
