Learning Outcomes
Successful completion of the course is expected to help the students apprehend:
- To learn the beginnings of modern Greek art
-That students become increasingly familiar with the conditions of art production during the 19th and 20th century.
-They recognize and understand the styles and visual trends elaborated in Greece in connection with Europe.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines and analyzes the basic issues that formed the art and its history from the 19th century until mid-20th. Starting from the Heptanese School and the constitution of the Greek state and reaching until the mid-20th century we will focus on the means of artistic expression, institutions and ideological directions.
