Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will:
-Have advanced their supervised artistic work in a personal studio, giving more emphasis on the creation of a personal vocabulary and the exploration of the work of art with parallel research through the Contemporary History of Art and Aesthetics.
-Have placed more demanding emphasis on both the conception as well as the execution of their work.
-Have succeeded to some extent in connecting the selected broader topics that concern contemporary thought, with their personal research and exploration that emerges at this point.
-Have developed critical ability, both on their personal work as well as on the work of other artists.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Supervised artistic work in a personal studio with more emphasis on creating a personal vocabulary and exploring the work of art with parallel research through the Contemporary History of Art and Aesthetics. More demanding emphasis on both the conception as well as the execution of the project.
Exploration and analysis of the issues of identity, personal experience, outside world, political art, study of Art of the last 30 years. Linking these selected broader topics to the personal research and exploration that emerges at this point.
Development of critical ability, both on the personal work of the student as well as on the work of other artists.
In the form of seminars, emphasis is placed on issues of professional practice (creating a portfolio, organizing exhibitions, etc.) in order to fully understand the student's problems, but also his potential within the artistic professional space.
