Learning Outcomes
After completing the course, students will have acquired knowledge of the relevant new technologies with respect to instruments, methods and technological developments in the field of geodetic applications and Geomatics.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Individual issues being negotiated by Geomatics are:
a. Spatial Information Systems, SIS and their applications.
b. Robotic or not systems for the determination of the 3D geometry of an object and the associated monitoring of its change.
c. Navigation vehicles using satellite systems and Mobile Mapping Systems.
Within these three axes of course interest, the use of various technologies, instruments and space surveying tools as well as their combinations are presented. Common examples of these introductory presentations are the use of robotic total stations, satellite positioning technology (Geodetic Navigation Satellite Systems, GNSS / Global Positioning Systems, GPS), the technology of Geographic Information Systems, GIS and in particular web-GIS and Cloud-GIS.
