Learning Outcomes
Knowledge: Specialized knowledge on steel bridges and on composite steel and concrete bridges. Competences: Upon successful completion of the course the students will have the competence to conceive, to study and to supervise the construction of steel bridges and of composite steel and concrete bridges. Skills: Ability to apply knowledge and to use know-how related to the specific characteristics and the process of the conception, design and supervision of the construction of steel bridges and of composite steel and concrete bridges.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Steel and composite bridges. Bridge categories. Loading codes. Bridge decks. Main girders. Box girder bridges. Bridge Bracings. Fatigue and brittle fracture. Methods of analysis and design according to Eurocodes 3 and 4. Numerical applications. Construction and maintenance.
