Learning Outcomes
Getting in touch with special traditional and modern building materials. Students implementation on various civil engineering works, solving technical issues and learning a methodology for searching a material in the market. The most important properties of materials, the ereas of research and the presentation of the results are encouranged through this lesson.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Lectures on innovative issues such as nanotechnology in building materials, sustainability in infrastructures, self-healing building materials and proposing themes for individual work on TRADITIONAL MATERIALS (COLORS IN CONSTRUCTION, PROTECTION OF METALS, PLASTER TECHNOLOGY, physicalvs. artificial stone, APPLICATIONS AND USE OF STONE IN CONVENTIONAL AND TRADITIONAL RESIDENCE, WOOD IN HISTORICAL CONSTRUCTIONS WOOD MAINTENANCE, WOODEN HOUSE, COB: NATURAL STRUCTURE, CLAY IN STRUCTURE, CLAY PROTECTION, BRICKS) and in, MODERN MATERIALS (HYDROPHOBIC MATERIALS, STEEL-PROTECTION, LIFE CYCLE OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION, ROADS & ASPHALT MATERIALS, NANOTECHNOLOGY & GLASS, NANOTECHNOLOGY AND STEEL, NANOTECHNOLOGY IN CONSTRUCTION, , lightweight BUILDING MATERIALS, USING WOOD IN HIGH CONSTRUCTION , GLASS AS building material, glass in architecture and energy efficiency of buildings, CONCRETE (especially concrete), WOOD, TECHNOLOGY OF FLOORS, heat insulating material, ADMIXTURES IN CONCRETE, REPAIRING MATERIALS (FRP)
