Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course, it is expected that the students: - have obtained the theoretical background of building physics and building energy performance assessment, - will be capable of conducting a building energy performance study - will be capable of conducting a building energy inspection.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Energy performance of buildings. Energy balance. Energy flows, calculation algorithms and procedure. Energy audits of buildings. Thermal protection of buildings. General considerations, thermal insulation materials, thermal bridging, calculation of thermal properties. Moisture protection. General considerations, humidity origins, moisture protection materials and techniques. Noise protection. General considerations. Sound proofing materials. Noise protection of floors, walls, roofs. Prefabrication. Industrialized construction. General considerations, requirements, rules. Building components, standardization of materials and constructional elements. Structural systems: production and assembly. Constructional solutions, details. Buildings’ deterioration and damages, buildings’ pathology. Building renovation and repairs. Restoration and conservation of monuments and historical structures.

Description
The evaluation process includes written examinations during the examination period and oral examinations during the presentation of the compulsory project. The evaluation process is presented analytically during the first lecture.
