Learning Outcomes
The students which complete the attending of the courses have a spherical knowledge about the electric energy production, using nuclear fuels and fossil fuels.
The lectures include the nuclear reactor operation, the nuclear fuels, the problem of the nuclear waste and the future of the nuclear fusion as an energy source.
The fossil fuel electric energy production is also included, with the associated problems from the pollution in the environment.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Neutron physics, neutron nuclear reactions, nuclear fission, neutron moderation, neutron diffusion, nuclear reactors, nuclear fuels and enrichment, nuclear energy production, radioactive waste and environmental pollution, nuclear fusion and energy production, energy production from fossil fuels, environmental pollution from the fossil fuels, energy production and selection criteria.
