Learning Outcomes
To learn about the microanatomy of tissues and to correlate the structure to the function of them. Also, to learn the structure of the organs according to system. Αfter completing the courses students will be able to know and microscopically recognize the different types of tissues and cells, their structure and their basic functions, as well as the types of tissues and cells that constitute each organ of the body.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Theoretical classes: Generally about the cell, cell organelles, nucleus, cell functions, epithelial tissue, connective tissue, blood -haemopoiesis, cartilage, bone tissue –osteogenesis, muscle tissue, nervous tissue and system, structure of organs of the heart, vessels, digestive, urinary, respiratory, reproductive system and sensory organs. Laboratory classes: Epithelial tissue, glands, connective tissue, cartilage, bone tissue, blood –vessels, muscle tissue, nervous tissue and system, lymphatic organs, Digestive system (2 classes), respiratory system, urinary system, reproductive system of male and female, endocrine glands, sensory organs .

Student Assessment
Description
Students have written examinations and they have to answer 4 histological questions, with sub-questions. For the final grade the laboratory examination will be taken into account.
