Course Content (Syllabus)
The natural and polluted atmosphere. Spatial and temporal scales of atmospheric pollution. Sources of atmospheric pollution. Environmental meteorology. Air quality. Impacts of atmospheric pollution. Measurement and monitoring of atmospheric pollution. Air Pollution Control Philosophy. Introduction and general characteristics of the atmospheric boundary layer. The surface layer. The Monin-Obukhov similarity theory. Surface τurbulent flows. The upper part of the atmospheric boundary layer. Similarity theory of the mixed layer. Local boundary layer similarity theory. Calculation of diffusion parameters.
