Course Content (Syllabus)
ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKS
Section 1: (2 hours): The Global and Local Telecommunications Market - Regulatory Authorities and Standardization Organizations. Telecommunication Resources Management, (Spectrum - Charges).
Section 2: (4 hours): Basic Financial (Financial Statements, Investments) and Business Administration (High Technology Companies, Project Management, Risk Management) and Strategic Management. Application: Management, Promotion and Life Cycle of Telecommunication Products.
Section 3: (4 hours): Introduction to Network Management: Basic Concepts and Architecture (Network Management Standards, Network Management Architecture, Abstract Syntax Notation (ASN.1)). Basic Tools and Network Management Systems (Basic Concepts, Standard TMN, Implementation Technologies: OSI, SNMP, CORBA, Web Services, Data Mining).
Section 4: (12 hours): Laboratory network management exercises with the GNS3 simulator in CISCO architecture.
Section 5: (2 hours): Wireless and mobile communication network management. Section 6: (2 hours): Laboratory exercises for wireless and mobile communication network management.
