Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will: be able to understand the fundamental principles for designing and conducting scientific research in the fields of physical education, sports, health, and recreation. be able to critically evaluate research literature and distinguish between valid and invalid arguments and information. be capable of formulating research questions, selecting appropriate methodology, tools, and samples, as well as collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data. be familiar with the principles governing the writing of scientific papers and the relevant ethical considerations, thereby enhancing their ability to present their research with professionalism and integrity.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. What is research and stages of conducting research. 2. Quantitative and Qualitative Research 3. Identifying a research problem 4. Literature review 5. Defining purpose and research questions and hypotheses 6. Gathering quantitative data, sampling 7. Data collection, descriptive statistics 8. Normal distribution 9. Parameter estimation and confidence intervals 10. Hypothesis testing 11. t-tests and chi-square test 12. Regression and correlation coefficient 13. Research reporting and evaluation

Description
The assessment of the course includes formative and summative assessment. Formative assessment consists of two interconnected assignments: A1 Literature review 20% (LO1, LO4) A2 Writing a comprehensive research report 40% (LO1-4) Summative assessment A3 The final examination, worth 40% (LO1-4), will consist of open-ended and multiple-choice questions covering the entire subject matter, as well as questions related to solving research problems.
