Learning Outcomes
at the end of the course, students will be able to formulate psychological difficulties in: 1. cognitive therapy terms 2. schema therapy terms 3. acceptance and commitment therapy terms and 4. they should be able to judge, which approach is more suitable given the nature of the client's difficulty.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Τhe course will be divided in five sections. In the 1st section, students will be introduced into the cognitive theory for personality and basic cognitive therapy techniques. In this section treating difficult patients will also be discussed as well as the limitations of cognitive therapy. In the 2nd section, schema therapy will be discussed as an approach that addresses some of the limitations of cognitive therapy. In the 3rd section, acceptance and commitment therapy will be discussed. In the 4th section, students will be introduced to the concept of mindfulness and how it can be combined and utilized in cognitive therapy. In the last section, research findings regarding the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioural approaches to therapy will be presented and discussed.
