Course Content (Syllabus)
Purpose and basic concepts of science of cartography. Historical development of the science of cartography until today. The concept of scale in Cartography. The cartographic generalization. The "math" of cartography from the Earth to the Map. The cartographic projections. Systems and coordinate conversions. The concept and process of Cartographic recognition. The data of Cartography. The mapping process. Map grades and sources of digital cartographic data. Management of digital cartographic data. Vector and raster models. Cartographic Digitization. Digital terrain models. Representation techniques of cartographic data. The digital cartographic background. The Cartographic Production.
