Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: -Specify hermeneutics fundamental principles in Orthodox tradition and life -Analyze the ascetic tradition significance as a hermeutic tool in the Orthodox Church -Study scientifically texts using original sources of the patristic tradition -Realize the patristic tradition importance for the modern world

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course analyzes the basic interpretative principles encountered in the Ascetic tradition concerning the recruitment and interpretation of the Holy Bible. The methodology of approaching and analyzing the ascetic texts requires knowledge and familiarity of students with the Orthodox ascetic tradition and literature from the 4th century to the present.
