Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students: 1. will have acquired the basic theoretical knowledge about the structure and function of the cognitive system. 2. They will know the principles that govern the representation of knowledge as well as the types of representation of knowledge. 3. will know the ways of applying the "representation of knowledge" in everyday life. 4. will know how to apply the methods of cognitive psychology in the research of cognitive phenomena. 5. In addition to the theoretical approach, the learning outcomes (3) and (4) are expected to be achieved based on the completion of the laboratory part of the course.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The topics covered include concepts of cognitive psychology and specifically the object and methods of cognitive psychology, the definition of knowledge and the forms of representation of knowledge (semantic, imaginal-spatial, temporal, procedural). The course also covers issues related to the architecture of the cognitive system and the distinction between cognition and metacognition. The course requires participation in weekly practicals that aim at the application of theoretical notions to new or everyday situations as well as the proper use of methods of cognitive psychology.

The evaluation is based on exercises that are being carried out during the semester and presented in power point (40%), and on written final exams (60%).
