Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: - discuss the importance of adolescence in human development - describe key aspects of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of adolescents - adopt an interdisciplinary approach to theory and research and discuss adolescent development from a cultural perspective - discuss problems (internalized and externalized) and resilience dimensions in adolescence.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to the study of adolescence. Adolescence and Emerging adulthood. Physical development - Biological foundations - Brain development. Cognitive development (cognitive foundations). Social cognition. Moral development (cognitive and emotional dimensions). Cultural beliefs. Social gender. Self and identity. Family relationships. Friends and peers. Risks, problems, and resilience.
