Knowledge of Italian at level B1 is required according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course the students have enhanced written and oral comprehension and production skills; have studied the correct use of the morphosyntactic system; will have enriched the lexicon; will have developed the basic learning strategies; will have expanded their cultural knowledge.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is the first of the four Italian language courses and is taught to first year students during the winter semester. The course proposes the revision and expansion of the linguistic-communicative skills essential to be able to interact with Italian-speaking speakers in recurring situations of daily life. The linguistic situations of communication concern clothing and fashion, physical activity, family, cooking and nutrition.

Description
The following technological tools will be used: digital book, use of ppt, cd, dvd, video, internet, padlet, kahoot). In addition to the hours of collaboration with the teacher, each student can contact the teacher via e-mail. All the course material will be uploaded to the e-learning platform.

Student Assessment
Description
The assessment consists of two tests: the oral and the written tests. During the semester, continuous evaluation is carried out with the attending students. 3 tests are administered to evaluate progress in understanding written texts, linguistic competence and written production. Oral production will also be tested. The calculation of the average of the marks achieved in the written and oral exam will produce the final mark. In the exam session, students will have to take the oral exam, if they do not pass it they will not be able to take the written exam.
