Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand the modern approaches on basic issues of social and ecological ethics and το deepen to the moral reflection from the perspective of Christian ethics.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The Christian ethos is not only experienced in a personal relationship with God, but also in relation to fellow human beings and creation. Contemporary social and ecological problems are primarily moral and spiritual problems, since their causes are directly related to perceptions of creation, society and fellow human beings. Detailed teaching programme 1. Applied ethics 2. The field of orthodox social ethics. 3. Ethical consideration of sport and doping. 4. Whistleblowing. 5. Social media and interpersonal relationships. 6. Health data: the right to privacy and public interests. 7. Modern approaches to the ecological crisis. 8. The theories of biocentrism, speciesism, and vegetarianism. 9. Biblical and patristic notions about the environment. 10. Man as administrator of the environment. 11. Ethical consideration of animal experimentation. 12. Animals as an object of human’s entertainment. 13. Animal genetic manipulation from an ethical point of view.
