Upon successful completion of the course students will: • have broad and specialized knowledge, both theoretically and practically, in the field of Homiletics • acquire a wide range of knowledge that allows them to understand the field of aesthetics of discourse and art and to apply elements and procedures in a general context • have problem-solving skills and capabilities through the selection and application of basic methods and information in a specialized field of work or study • possess specialized skills, which are required in research in order to develop new knowledge and processes and integrate knowledge in the field of discourse and art aesthetics • they can independently carry out qualitative and quantitative tasks in the field of Liturgical Arts.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The purpose of the course is to inform the students about the history, the preaching process and the aesthetics of the liturgical arts in the Church and to acquire the critical knowledge for the ministry of the liturgical arts and the word. 1. Mystery and ministry of speech 2. Rules and preaching 3. Historical routes of ecclesiastical rhetoric 4. Life as the Gospel and the Gospel as Life 5. The preaching in the modern world 6. From the synagogue to the church (neostructural aesthetics) 7. The effect of the texts of the Old and the New Testament on the iconography. 8. Byzantine and Western aesthetics. 9. Aesthetics as a factor in the education of the people. 10. Worship and aesthetics. 11. The icon as a source of the sermon 12. Functional discourse and its effect on art. 13. The crisis of speech and art today. Problems and concerns.
