Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students should be able to understand and describe the moral consideration on Bioethics, particularly from the point of view of Orthodox Ethics. Moreover, they should be able to describe and compare the basic approaches on fundamental bioethical issues, such as abortion, assisted reproductive technology and cloning.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Bioethics is commonly understood as a bridge, which connects in brings in harmony the scientifically feasible with the morally right. The more the scientifically feasible is extended in interventions which concern the most sensitive stages of life, the more is being understood that it is necessary to evaluate these interventions from an ethics point of view. This course presents the approach of Orthodox Bioethics and examines its contribution to the modern interdisciplinary dialogue on bioethics.

6. Abortion: hard cases (after rape, diagnosis of a genetic disease or danger for the health of the pregnant)
