Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic principles of biotechnology. Biotechnological applications in the field of health: Gene and cell therapy, Genetic and epigenetic editing, Diagnosis and treatment of diseases, Personalized medicine, Assisted Reproduction. Biotechnological applications in research and animal production: Transgenic experimental models, Production animals with improved performance. Plant Biotechnology: Food and Human Health. The golden rice - Vitamins A, E, B. Methods of creating transgenic plants (Agrobacterium, GeneGun, Genome Editing). Biotechnological products - vegetable lipids. Plant Genomes and Biotechnological Applications. Biotechnology of microalgae and cyanobacteria. Theoretical biorefinery development. Biorefinery products. Applications in environment and energy.
