Learning Outcomes
With the successful completion of the course the students will be able to recognize the forms of the different architectural styles but also the causes leading to them. They will be able to distinguish the period to which the various formal elements belong. They will understand the various aesthetic and constructional issues that lay behind the creation of the various architectural styles and to perform comparative analyses.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course is a review of the most important architectural styles in history from antiquity to the present. It includes Mesopotamia, Egypt, Ancient Greece, Roman empire, Byzantine period, Romanesque, Gothic period, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Historicist styles of the 19th c., High-Tech, the various styles of Modern, Post-Modern, and Deconstruction.
