Learning Outcomes
The students familiarise themselves with the history, theory and practice of Production Dramaturgy and the work of a Dramaturg in contemporary theatre. They also acquire skills in conducting dramaturgical research on a given text, discuss their findings and ultimately produce a full-length performance text.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims to familiarise the students with the history, theory and practice of Production Dramaturgy and the work of a Dramaturg in contemporary theatre. At first, some historical figures are presented and a number of theoretical models are analysed (e.g. Lessing and Brecht & the literary manager model).
At a later stage, the students, in groups, are asked to conduct dramaturgical research on a given text, discuss their findings and ultimately produce a full-length performance text.
